This unit covers the advantages and disadvatages of books and materials related to an ESL lesson. It expands on previous details about authentic materials. It explains how the teacher can create their own coureswork to make up for gaps or deficencies in alocated coursework. It explains what coursebooks are and the supplementary materials often related to them and explains how coursebooks are almost always a compromise. It also explains the importance of relating course material to students appropriately and how to analyse a courseboook. This unit has given me a good foundation for choosing, applying and supplementing coursework.
