Teach English in HongguAng Linchang - Yichun Shi
Unit 18 covers modal auxiliary verbs, phrasal verbs, passive voice, and relative clauses. I learned that the modal auxiliary verbs (or ?modals? known in the unit reading) are can, could, may, should, might, shall, will, must, would, must, have to, have got to, ought to, need to, and needn?t to. Their main uses are to express ideas such as possibility, permission, obligation, ability, or advice. The lesson also touched on passive and active voices. I learned that the passive voice is used when ?it is not known, not important, or we don?t want to say, exactly who performs an action? (Page 6, unit 18).
