This lesson looked at some of the problems that teachers may face in the classroom and some ways to resolve them. For teachers, first lessons can be divided into two categories, new group and existing groups. In new groups students do not know each other and may be unfamiliar with the EFL terminologies while in existing groups students are familiar with each other and the English language. For first lessons, teachers are encouraged to create a rapport between the students and get to know them. It is important for teachers to help motivate their students, they can do this by using a technique that is called ?warmer?. Warmers are short fun activities designed to motivate students, these can include games such as tongue twisters and hangman. Having a large class can pose a problem for both teachers and students because students miss out from getting individual attention. When teaching a large class, teachers can use work sheets and separate students into groups for group work, teachers also must make sure they speak with clarity so their students will hear and understand what is being taught. Some students may be reluctant to participate in class because of various issues, therefore, it is important for teachers to devise strategies to encourage participation in class. Some students maybe more advance than others so it is important for teachers to create activities that promote the growth for the two types of students without depriving anyone of the two groups of information.
