Teach English in Heshui Zhen - Yangjiang Shi
I started studying the unit thinking about the responsibility that we have when interacting with the students, there are many factors that we have to take account and the way how we support and deals with. At the beginning, I learnt about corporal language expressions such as eye, gesture and voice when referring to the student. Then was the pros and cons of grouping the students in different forms, I got surprised how we can relate the purpose of an activity with the grouping of the students and also to make it more suitable the classroom arrangement could help to provide a correct environment for the interaction between the student to students and teacher depending the aim of the activity. Talking about the attention, I got happy, seeing how much we need to be aware with all these facts, specially when having communication with the student, about the balance of teacher talking time vs student talking time, when to give individual attention or when we need to give more effort with those who have difficulties on understanding but at the same time not forgetting the others; to be transparent when giving instruction and I think the best part is to be fair with them, developing that capacity of alterity that will connect rapport with them. I really enjoyed this unit, but I think the most difficult thing is to apply it, I know it takes practice. I was finding a little difficult to remember all pros and cons per each factor, but thinking that it will be fixed on my mind once putting it on the action.
