As we move from one unit to the other it is getting clearer what we should consider while teaching a new language. In this unit we have been looking the various things to consider while teaching vocabulary and grammar. The students should need to be exposed to the language, Understand the meaning, understand how it is constructed and practice and produce it. if they do so the language learning will become an easy task. Vocabulary is very important especially during the early steps. While teaching vocabulary , the following criteria can be used. a) Appropriacy to the student b) Appropriacy to the task. c) Frequency and coverage d) Teachability. The students should understand the meaning, use, word grammar,spelling and pronounciation of the word they learn. They should also understand how it interacts and affects other words. We can use diferent techniques like pictures, discussion, gap filling excercise , role play etc during the different stages like Engage, study and Activate. While introducing grammatical structures students should know what the language means, how it is used , what the grammatical form is and how it is said and written. Discussion, using pictures, drawings etc during the engage stage will help the students to understand the grammar better. Discussion or debates, role-play can be used to understand how well they have learnt the concept. Teaching language functions like inviting, refusing, suggesting etc can be effectively used with the Boomerang and Patch work ESA lessons
