Teach English in Chengdong Jiedao - Yangjiang Shi
Overall receptive skills are key to overall language growth. There are several factors towards the reasoning skills either; for purpose or for enjoyment. It seems that as a teacher the main to keep students engaged is to try and combine the two mainly so the students understand the purpose of what they are reading or listening to but also that they enjoy learning the new language so they continue to be receptive. The key toward receptive skills seems to me that it is all about using pre-existing knowledge so that the students understand roughly what the subject / new language is about. From this section, it seems that there can be many problems towards students not picking up a new language. One key focus here is to continue to understand the level of your students and continuing giving them texts or audio based upon the classes ability. Some key factors involved in teaching receptive skills are that as I teacher I must pre-teach some of the information. The main focus of pre-teaching is some that I can establish keywords that the students may not understand and explain them. As a teacher, I believe a key area of this surrounds understand the students what they find enjoyable and picking texts or audio that they will understand. Without the evaluation of the ability and the interest, the students will find the topics mundane and will loose focus. Similarly, If I were to pick a text that is overly complicated the students may then feel disheartened as they feel insecure in their knowledge and ability.
