In this unit I learned about the Productive Skills I'll need for teaching, which include writing and speaking English. There are many reasons that students may feel uncomfortable in using these skills. A lack of confidence in their speech and writing skills is a major one and will need to be nurtured by the teacher throughout the course. In this regard, students will be offered feedback at points but should not be inhibited in their attempts to speak and write. Games are often useful in the activate stages, as are creative writing exercises and role play which allow the students to express themselves without needing to follow an exact, or perfectly precise, script.
