This unit?s content reminded me of unit three because it used the ESA structure as a template for organizing and teaching vocabulary, grammatical and language function lessons. While the purpose and objectives of each type of lesson vary, it is important to know that there are concrete things that students should be able to do with any new language being introduced: exposure to the language items, understanding the meaning and construction of the language and practicing and producing the language. Furthermore, the unit also gave examples of lesson plans for each of the three types of language introduction using both the straight arrow and patchwork ESA methods.
