In Unit 15 : Evaluation and Testing, I learned about the myriad types of tests that are used to assess the language levels of students around the world who want to learn English. I never knew there were so many! I also learned about the different reasons why students should be evaluated, whether at the beginning of the admission process to determine their language knowledge; or at the beginning of the course so that the teacher can have a better idea of the types of lessons he/she must plan for each particular group of students they may have; as well as throughout the course to get an idea of how much the students are retaining or where it is they may be struggling.
