Teach English in Longquansi XiAng - Xingtai Shi
For this unit on teaching vocabulary the biggest notes I made were the sections on vocabulary selection. I found it interesting the try to hypothetically select words based on perceived language level. Most teachers only follow a book when it comes to vocab. However, this unit has shown me that class work can be more engaging if the teacher is creating the lesson plans, selecting the vocab, and really interacting with the students instead of letting a book dictate all of the learning in the classroom. I also made good note of how the ESA structure (and activities) can change dramatically based on what is being taught (whether grammar, language point, or vocabulary).
