Vocabulary is the basis of learning a new language, therefore selecting appropriate vocabulary words are important. The selection process of appropriate vocabulary words depends of a few important factors including the similarity to the student's own language, similarity to English words already known, spelling and pronunciation and the appropriateness of the words selected.
