In this unit, I?ve learned that a sentence consists of a number of words, and each of them plays a role which are the parts of speech. Parts of speech like definite article, adjective, noun and verb etc. are critical to form a correct and understandable sentence. A thorough knowledge of the parts of speech can help me to teach my students to use the correct grammar. For example, the transitive and intransitive verbs are quite confusing for non-native speakers. If we say I built, then it is not a complete sentence. We have to I built a house. That?s the transitive verb must be followed by an object. Grammar is the most difficult but critical part of English.
