This unit was about creating and using lesson plans to prepare and then give lessons. It is important to have a plan for how you want a given lesson to progress, but that plan should have room for unexpected variations that may come up during class. A lesson plan allows the teacher to have the basis for how they want the lesson to progress and have an idea for the end goal that the students should reach. Using a lesson plan allows a teacher to prepare themselves and the materials necessary to teach a lesson, but the plan should not be set in stone. The teacher should be able to modify their lesson in response to the students' needs in order to best teach that lesson.
