This unit covered the 8 parts of speech that are the premise of understanding the English language, written and spoken. This parts include nouns, verbs, pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions, prepositions and interjections. Native speakers might forget the importance of each part of speech but being able to understand them can help when teaching the dynamics to non-native speakers. Other languages switch up the sentence structure which might leave non-native English speakers confused in how to properly write English and to speak it. By understanding parts of speech, the teacher can provide insight and structure to students so they can grasp concepts easier.
