This unit defines the aims of evaluating students, and the number of ways to evaluate students suchas tutorials, self evaluation by student and tests. In general speaking, tests are usually given at different stages in the course of learning. For example, a placement test is given at the begining of the course to assist the formation of groups of students at the same level, while diagnostic test is given to identify the students' weaknesses. However, progress test and practice test are given during the course, where progress test is aimed to monitor the students' learning prgress in the course, while practice test is given to simulate the actual external examination.
