This unit covered material that focused on receptive skills. A clear definition and examples of receptive skills were given followed by examples of lesson plans that incorporated both types of receptive skills. I found this unit to be very helpful. I had never been introduced to receptive skills in this manner. However, I am familiar with the concept of active verses passive listening and reading. I feel that it will be a difficult balance at first to give students material that is both challenging and still interesting. I foresee this challenge being overcome through actively acquiring feedback from students and providing self assessments as I progress as a teacher.
