In this unit we went through the benefits of games, stories, crafts, movement and music in the classroom to aid in teaching young learners. To work with the younger age group, the use of chants and rhymes is more efficient as well as doing crafts, playing games and adding movement and sound, are some of the more efficient ways of teaching. Teaching older young learners the use of songs, stories and roll play are among the most effective methods, to name a few. In this lesson I have also learned about the seven types of known intelligence and ways to aid in teaching different individuals. Among these types of intelligence are Math/Logic (learn best through cause and effect), Picture (learn best by visual stimuli) , Music (learn effectively through rhythm and sound), Body (can learn best by the act of doing), People (work best among other people), Self (prefer to work individually) and Nature (learn best through nature and their environment). In order to effectively teach a group of individuals with different qualities and types of intelligence the most effective technique is to use an array of different activities, images, sounds and motion.
