The intonation and stress are important phenomenon in English as they influence the meaning of the utterance. Depending on the way the utterance is pronounced the listener reaction will change. For instance, in one question we can stress different words, so the answer will be different. There are some technics to teach intonation and English rhythm, such as repeating a nonsense sentence, using gestures to show the intonation rise\\fall, using visuals (drawing on a board) and sining or chanting. There are also different kinds of sounds: according to the place and manner of utterance. There are some rules for stress in English words and sentence. Such as we don't usually stream preps, articles, pronouns. There are some phonetic phenomena as linking, sound dropping, sound change (assimilation) and extra (r).
