This unit discussed the qualities and roles of a teacher and the students. It discussed major differences in learner's success or failure in learning a language. Also, it discussed the various roles teachers must have in teaching. I have found out that the learners have different levels of ability in learning the English language. This made me think as well about my own level and where exactly am I now as a learner of the English language. I agree that age is one variable that proves the learner's performance in learning. However, while it is true that the adults learn better, the younger learners however learn faster. Through this unit I have reflected four reasons why one engages in English language learning: to excel in school, to pass a job interview, to use English abroad and for personal satisfaction.
