Making a lesson plan should be used to aid your planning of classtime, but not be a rigid document. It should be a record or your activities as well. A typical lesson plan could include the following information, name of teacher and observer if present, date, level of students, number of students, learner objectives, teacher objectives, problems that may arise, materials needed. Each phase of the ESA lesson could also be briefly described with examples as well. Planning your lessons helps to ensure you are meeting your goals, keeping track of learned objectives, and is a working document. That means if you make a series of lessons, you should be ready to alter activities based on student's progress at each point of the learning stage. Making lesson plans should be an aid, not a rigid, unchanging plan.
