The unit on class management and discipline has many useful tools, strategies and attitudes. Some of these are things that must be done in the classroom such as proper use of eye contact, gestures, body language and showing enthusiasm in your work. Some of those are things that need to be done before class such as how you will arrange the class and who will sit with who and how the board/visual materials will be made. In the discipline section, it mentioned that being prepared is one of the preventative ways to mitigate undesirable student behaviour. I feel that is the main take away from this lesson. In order to manage a classroom effectively, you have to do the work beforehand. You have to make a lesson plan that will keep them engaged and think about how you will organize logistics based around this plan.
