In this unit, the productive skills, writing and speaking were explained. In more detail than the previous unit, the information seemed much more useful. When focused on speaking, factors such as the types of communicative activities, reasons for a lack of engagement, and ways to encourage communication were detailed chapters. Various components of writing were analyzed, and a model lesson plan and some games were given too. I learnt that despite writing being a quieter language skill compared to listening, speaking and reading it is a integral part of language which needs to be engaged in a lesson. I also found interesting that process is sometimes more valuable than the product. It would be interesting to see if a learner has the same perspective and prefers the result of a test rather than the studying, or vice versa.
