The unit identified many roles of a teacher and learner as well as considerations to keep in mind while teaching adults. Also, it talks about some of the ways groups are organized for teaching. We learn that there are many skills that students both want and need. Lastly, teaching methodologies are suggested for lesson planning. I learned that as teachers, we are not only looked at as instructors but also, facilitators, mentors, psychologists, counsellors and policeman. Teachers must wear many ?hats? in the classroom and our responsibilities are very big. Working adults also bring a whole new challenge in the classroom. Such as, they haven?t been in class for a long time and aren?t ready for the challenge of learning, they are in the going home mindset or if there is a problem in the workplace, students may disappear.
