Teach English in Donghua XiAng [→ Yingwuxi Zhen] - Tongren Shi
This unit dealt with EFL methodology with a specific focus on the ESA approach (engage/study/activate). Through this method, students are encouraged to experiment with the language in the first and third modules, with study of the language point taking place in the second. A discussion of correction and the best approaches to giving it followed. Correction is dependent largely on the student(s), stage, and proficiency level. I found the review of the ESA methodology, along with it's variants (patchwork, boomerang, straight arrow), to be especially helpful in understanding how to present lessons to students with a limited (if that) knowledge of English. It seems to me to be a very logical flow and reminds me of lesson structures when i was learning languages over the years. It also reminded me of where it was missing in classes I have taken in the past.
