This unit shows the different ways of teaching special groups. When teaching beginners, the teacher should always be aware of the students needs and interests, always be clear when giving instructions and respond to students as individuals. Teaching students individually (one-on-one) can have advantages such as; there are no mixed levels and the student is usually highly motivated. Teaching children can be difficult at times because there might not be as much motivation as with adult students, as children usually do not make the decision to study English on their own. But the teacher can make the class interesting to increase student motivation. When teaching business English (English for a spesific reason) the teacher should first do a needs analysis and then plan the course in advance. It is also important to be professional with students in the business world.
