Unit 17, Equipment and teaching aids, provides a coomprehensive list of ressources available to teachers, their advantages and disadvantages, and considerations to take into account before using them. The importance and variety of online sources is highlighted. There are literally thousands of web sites that a TEFL teacher can use such as online dictionaries (example: World Wide Words), online lessons, exercises and learning materials as well as teaching ressources for teachers of English. Studying this unit helped me to appreciate the variety of equipment and teaching aids available to the English language teacher. The numerous references and online sources listed in this unit provide a very valuable source of information for lesson preparation. I particularly appreciated the reminder that dictionaries are still the single most useful tool available to students.
