I believe this lesson helped me further understand the different methods foreign language teachers use during their classes. Also, by learning all the different methods, it makes it easier to distinguish them from the ESA method. I think originally as a teacher I would of started class with the study phase but now I realize and understand the importance of starting with the engage phase. This way you can gain the attention and ear of your students through their natural want to learn and participate rather than through discipline. From what I gathered after reading Unit 3, I believe the most important points is to understand that you must always start a class with the 'engage phase' and end with the 'activate phase' and that it is important to note how you are correcting your students. The way you correct your student can either enhance their learning or stunt it.
