This unit was massive. It covered the main ideas of pronunciation and phonology. Within that it covered ideas such as intonation, stress, the phonemic alphabet, and articulation. The individual sections taught on the rules of these, gave examples, and tips on how and when to teach them. I learned so much in this unit as almost all of it was new to me. I learned the difference between placing stress on whole sentences versus placing stress within just one word. I had seen the phonemic alphabet before, but never used it so learning that I think will be very useful when working with students who use it. Articulation is something I deal with very often as a teacher overseas. I have used mouth placement before to help my students, but I never knew all the different terms and specifics. I think this will help me to explain things more clearly to students in the future.
