Unit 17 taught me about the use of the various equipment and teaching aids in a classroom. It went through tips and ideas on how to use basic teaching aids, such as white boards, visual aids (objects/pictures), work sheets/cards, dictionaries, course and resource books, with advantages and disadvantages of these. More technological aids were also listed, with helpful tips on for example how to prepare the aid and the lesson when using it. These aids were; interactive whiteboards, cassette recorders, cd-player, videos/DVDs, cameras, computers and online resources, electronic boards and overhead, which also have advantages and disadvantages to consider when planning to use them in a lesson. A list of online resources such as dictionaries, learning bases, literature and poetry pages, as well as media and teaching bases and a miscellaneous link was provided in this unit.
