Lets start off with advantages and disadvantages of an online TEFL course, advantages would be you get 6 months to complete an online TEFL course so you can do it at a pace that suits you. Also you can do it from the comfort of your home no travelling expenses or accommodation required. The online course costs less than if you wanted to do an in class TEFL course. If you are worried you wont get constant feedback no need to be as you have your own tutor all through the course who will mark your progress and you can ask him/her any questions you have along the way. Disadvantages you would not have that face to face interaction with the teacher or other students. If you are a very social person you might not like the fact that there is no real face to face communication, also if youre not mad into computers you have to bare it to complete the course. You would also need to have your own computer at home to give the course your all. Onsite TEFL course advantages, you get a chance to teach english to real students of english, all practice sessions are observed by the teacher training staff and you receive constructive feedback and reports on your strengths and weaknesses when teaching. You get to travel to a different place in the world meet new people while you study. Disadvantages, it is more expensive than online course, you also need to find the time to travel to where your course is. You only get four weeks to complete the in class course so you have to be motivated and want to be there. Overall if you have to choose between one or the other it will probably come down to your individual circumstances or preferences. One way will suit one person and the other way will suit the other person it will be an individual choice. Whichever you choose my advice would be to think carefully about it first and then make your decision.
