This unit concentrates on the very heart of the matter when teaching new language, i.e. what a student needs to know about a vocabulary item, grammatical structures and language functions. On one hand, it is no news that vocabulary, grammar and function are very much like the building blocks of language ?in that sense, the unit sounds rather familiar. On the other hand, looking at those elements from the perspective of a typical ESA has been a new ingredient in my ?teaching recipe?. I have not been very familiar with the ESA approach before this course, so learning practical ways to start implementing it in my class is a great contribution of this unit.
