This unit, we learned the basics of English grammar and parts of speech in the English language. We learnt the different components of speech, such as nouns, adjectives, articles, verbs, adverbs, gerunds, pronouns, and prepositions/conjunctions. Each of these components helps us to formulate our speech and writing. They are very important for teaching English as a second language, as we need to be able to express and explain how the English language is formulated in its basic sense. I have learnt that there are many important structures and forms in writing sentences effectively and how it is necessary to know these things to be able to teach them confidently to others.
