This unit is about teaching and learning. It starts by pointing out the major learning and development theories and the differences between learning a native language and a second language. Different teaching methodologies are presented in accordance to two age bands (from 5 to 9 years old and from 9 to 13 years old) as well as the importance of the learning environment. The unit finishes with the skills that the students will need to mature and the most adequate activities to achieve it. I believe that this unit provides useful tools regarding how to arrange the classroom to create the desired dynamic as well as how to choose the right activity for a certain age group.
