This unit discussed modal and phrasal verbs, as well as the passive voice. These concepts could be difficult for English language learners because of the subtlety of language, especially when looking at all of the different tenses. Having a better understanding of these things will help me to be a better teacher. Being able to explain the difference in tenses and use of words and how they change depending on the format will be important in helping learners. The passive voice and modal verbs are quite common in the English language, and students will need to know how to navigate them, having it broken down as it was in this lesson makes it much easier to explain to them.
