Unit 3 goes over course design and program evaluation. There are different stages to designing a course such as initial level testing, which helps tell you what level the students are at with their English proficiency, needs analysis which gives you a better idea of what the students need to learn, and building a syllabus, with different types such as structural or functional. Evaluation for the course should be maintained in order to see students' progress and receive feedback from the students as well as to have an evaluation of the students. Different types of testing include before a course like diagnostic and placement, or later like progress and achievement tests.
