In this unit I've known that there're 4 forms of past tences: past simple, past continous, past perfect and past perfect continous. Past simple is formd by adding ed to a main verb, if this verb is regular in the affirmative sentence. If the verb is irregular we just use the form of this ireegular berb in the past sentence. In the negative senttecne the order will be the following: didn't+ verd. In the quastion the order is: did + subject + main verb. Past continuous is forms by putting be in the past befor the verb and adding -ing to the main verb etc. All these 4 forms of past tences have also different usage in the sentence according to which we use this or that form.
