Unit 7 was on the subject of teaching new language. When teaching new vocabulary words there are a few things to keep in mind such as what is appropriate for each student and the current task. Other points to keep in mind are the frequency the words are used and the teachability of them. When teaching vocabulary the teacher should make sure the student learns the meaning, use, spelling, pronunciation, grammar, and interactions of the words. The ESA approach can be used for this in each way -- the straight arrow, boomerang, and patchwork structures. The gave some good points to think on in regards to teaching vocabulary and grammar. I would use these with my own students.
