This unit gives an overview of the different kinds of course books and materials a teacher might use. Course books provide a tried and tested syllabus that offer material for a general audience/group of students, but having learned from previous lessons that it is important to adapt materials and teaching styles to a specific class, supplementary materials become increasingly helpful. Most of the examples of created materials sound like they would operate well in a study portion of the class period because they are designed for the level of the students (thus facilitating accuracy in language use) and can be interesting (if adapted to the students' interests) and topical.
