Figuring out which materials to use in course lessons is probably the toughest part of lesson-planning for me. Textbooks are great guides, but are not perfect, and, like the unit pointed out, they are created for a general EFL classroom. Even when I was in school, textbook work quickly became repetitive and boring. So while textbooks are a wonderful tool, especially for a beginning teacher, the sign of a great teacher is being able to create your own material and to find ways to incorporate authentic materials. I like that this unit gave lots of examples of created learning materials, as it will give me ideas for teaching materials that I will create in my lesson planning.
