Unit 20 is a short but informative module. Establishing rapport is vital to underpin learning. I firmly believe that the students must have a good relationship with their teacher. Otherwise, teaching could become slow and laboured. Activities are given on how to do this, along with ?warmer' exercises. Teachers will face challenges dealing with groups that contain students of varying abilities. The unit provides ways to deal with this. Large classes can be challenging, especially for an inexperienced teacher, so the techniques indicated are helpful. The module also covers how to manage the use of native language, reluctant students and difficulties with listening texts.
