Unit 5 dealt with the many aspects of classroom management. Various ways to engage students and build rapport were highlighted. The use of gestures, voice and eye contact are essential for holding the students attention. Grouping students, whether in pairs or small teams ,as well as the arrangement of the classroom, play an important part in how involved the students become in the lessons. Issues such as writing on the board and giving students individual attention, students talk time ,monitoring without being intrusive,creating a comfortable environment for learning, were also included in this unit. We learnt how to control and respond to problem behavior and indiscipline.
