In this unit we look at the common problem situations that teacher can encounter in the classroom and ways to handle them. For the first lesson it is vital for the teacher to build rapport with the students and set the tone for the rest of the course. In a classroom, students may be at varying levels.Therefore it is essential to use different materials where the difference in ability is wide. Teacher may split the students in 2 groups the stronger and the weaker ones. Different materials can be given to the 2 groups. As for large classes, teacher can overcome the number of problems to involve all students equally in the classroom, by using worksheets and choral repetition.
