Unit 13 is about teaching pronunciation and phonology. We start by learning the different patterns of intonation and what they might be used for. We also learn about word stress and techniques for teaching it, sound joining and linked speech. The unit also covers the phonetic alphabet which segues into articulation and techniques for teaching it.Initially a lot of this unit seemed obvious when dealing with classroom management. However, as I progressed I quickly picked up some valuable ideas and insights such as the different ways to arrange a class and how the different set ups can be effective. It also provided some good advice on grouping, giving instructions and establishing rapport.
