This unit caused me a lot of problems. I believe that these grammar points take a step away from what we would normally be teaching in a classroom and that they explain it in a way that is not really that useful for teaching. That being said, it is useful to draw my attention to aspects of the English language that are exceedingly complicated that I have never thought about before. Conditionals are widely used and I had no idea that there were so many types of them: zero, first, second, third, and mixed conditionals. Additionally, I had no idea that reported speech had so many tense changes and rules in relation to reporting time.
