First of i think it is important to test your students level of English before writing a lesson plan for future lesson, so that we can address their strength and weaknesses. For beginners, it is better to start with their literacy skills. If they already to knew it, then it will be just a refresher of what they've learned. It is also important to motivate them by praising and encouraging.Homework will also play a huge role as it will show the teacher if they have understood the lesson for the day. For ESP, i think it is important to keep them interested to the lesson and give them enough English knowledge to perform their job well.
