This unit focuses on what characteristics both a good teacher and student possess. In addition to learning that the manager/controller role is less dominant than I expected, I also became aware of instances in which some of my past teachers exercised these different roles exceptionally well and how they motivated me personally. This unit also shed some insight as to how to coach students away from bad habits and traits and push them towards becoming better and more efficient learners. For example, the way a teacher executes the roll of assessor can either help comfort a student that suffers from a fear of critique or make it worse.
