There are specific grammar rules that even native speakers of English may not be aware of (for example, the order in which different types of adjectives appear when describing an object). There are also many exceptions to the standard grammar rules which will require non-native speakers to memorise certain words and patterns instead of falling back onto the rules taught. With this in mind, there is a need to therefore try to motivate students and encourage them to keep practising so that they get familiar with the rules and do not get disheartened by the sheer number of things they need to remember about using \"standard English\".
