This unit speaks about the different approaches there are to educating learners in the language of English. The structure that ITTT pushes is the ESA structure. This stands for engage,study,activate. In the engage section you want all students participating/practicing English. This doesn't have to connect the study section. In the study section is where new language concepts are introduced and students practice the objective of the lesson. The last part is where students use prior AND new knowledge to gain more fluency. I learned a lot this in this section. I am pretty nervous about how to teach but the ESA format simplifies things.
