Phonology isn?t something I am familiar with, though I have heard of it before. The unit provides an introduction to this illuminating subject. As a native speaker, I take the sounds of words for granted, but I can see how this can help non-native speakers to speak in a way that can be easily understood. Pronunciation is, of course, something that all learners of the English language will appreciate. For foreign speakers to have the ability to use their vocabulary and be understood would surely give them high confidence. Therefore, I see great value, as a teacher, to be able to teach pronunciation and phonology to the students.
