The unit delved into the four present tenses of verbs and the use of contractions: present simple, present continuous (gerund), present perfect and present perfect continuous. I have learnt that the labels for verb categories are every changing. It is also becoming clear that I must become more comfortable with this part of speech to effectively teach English Learners. While the present simple would be the easiest to teach and likely master, the other forms may very well taken many stages study and activate to help learners gain mastery. Definitely, grammar texts with many charts to aid teach and students will be a great benefit.
